Plymouth resident Kim Goudie is a National Association of Athletic Trainers (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and holds a NASM Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialization (MMACS) certificate. Additionally, she is a certified Precision Nutrition Level One (PN-1) coach and has earned her certification as an Online Trainer Academy (OTA) coach.
Kim’s approach to training maximizes results, minimizes wasted physical and mental energy, and targets fitness goals in a supportive, no-nonsense atmosphere. Utilizing a combination of methods, including HIIT and traditional strength and cardio programs, Kim helps clients of all ages and at all levels of fitness improve their performance, whether to prepare for an athletic competition, or to lose weight and gain muscle strength for everyday applications in life. Her only requirement of clients is a desire to improve by working hard.
Kim credits a mindset she adopted during her time in the military as one of her primary motivating factors for staying in optimal physical health–to be someone who could pull her own weight–and not the person others were waiting for at the end of a training exercise.
Kim’s dedication to physical fitness also stems from a more internal motivating force. Following a personal family tragedy, Kim’s military counselors strongly urged her to turn to exercise to help her through the emotional healing. The profound impact exercise had on her mental state is one reason why Kim remains committed to her own physical fitness, and why she eventually decided to pursue a career in personal training.
Today, Kim strives to incorporate key elements she has learned through experience as the foundation of helping others get fit: a non-intimidating, personal training setting that emphasizes and builds on individual strengths, a desire to stretch beyond one’s comfort zone, and a commitment to goal-setting.
